Zero Mustafa, the then owner of the Grand Budapest, started as a lobby boy of that hotel. His camaraderie with the concierge of the hotel, M Gustave H, presented him with peculiar situations. However, as a loyal friend and subordinate, Zero helped him out in all his shenanigans. Under his guidance, Zero grew up to be an efficient lobby boy A set of plans for the model hotel. Cinematographer Richard Yeoman worked closely with Anderson to produce The Grand Budapest Hotel. It’s a relationship that goes back to Bottle Rocket and the two seem to make an excellent team. Yeoman does most of the work behind the camera. They chose to shoot the movie on 35mm film, which is not surprising. In Mr. Anderson’s hands, this setting becomes the playground for Gustave H., an old-school dandy — part Peter O’Toole, part David Bowie — who keeps the titular hotel running like clockwork. The story opens with a young girl with a book titled you guessed it, The Grand Budapest Hotel. She glances up to a bust statue of the author of the book.
